Video plays but there’s no sound

The picture is fine but the audio track uses a codec your player doesn’t have — most often AC-3, E-AC-3, DTS or TrueHD from movies and TV recordings. The player silently skips the track it can’t decode.

Play it free with PlayAnyVideo

  1. 1

Open the file in PlayAnyVideo — it decodes AC-3, E-AC-3, DTS and TrueHD for free.

  2. 2

If there are several audio tracks (languages, commentary), pick another one from the audio menu.

  3. 3

Check the system volume, the mute button and the output device (Bluetooth headsets often grab the sound).

  4. 4

Open the PlayAnyVideo player in your browser — nothing to install — and drop the file in. Files never leave your device.

FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes. PlayAnyVideo has no ads, no paid codecs and no locked features.

Is my Video plays but there’s no sound file uploaded anywhere?

No. Playback happens on your own device; local files are never sent to a server.

Do I need a codec pack?

No. Codec packs can break other players and often bundle adware. PlayAnyVideo brings its own decoders.
