Very large 4K and 8K files push both the player and the computer. These players are often used for high-resolution video; smooth playback still depends on your hardware.

FAQ

Why does my 4K video stutter?

Usually the computer cannot decode the codec fast enough in software. A player that uses the graphics card for decoding or conversion helps; very old PCs may still struggle.

Does PlayAnyVideo show ads or ask me to buy codecs?

No. PlayAnyVideo has no ads, no paid unlocks and no codec purchases. The Windows app decodes HEVC with an open-source LGPL FFmpeg engine.

Are my videos uploaded when I use the web player?

No. Local files are played on your own device and are never sent to a server.
